Sales of this special edition will raise funds for The Trevor Project's crisis intervention and teen suicide prevention efforts while also supporting the donation of print copies of The Rules of Ever After to libraries across the U.S., an initiative created to help build a foundation for LGBTQ content featuring relatable characters and life-affirming messages for teens and young adults. For every $15 donated, one book will be sent to a U.S. public library and a $10 direct donation will be made to The Trevor Project.
THE TREVOR PROJECT: Founded in 1998 by the creators of the 1994 Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis-intervention and suicide-prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13 to 24. Every day, The Trevor Project saves young lives through its free and confidential phone, chat, and text services, as well as online community, in-school workshops, educational materials, resources, and advocacy.
The Rules of Ever After Summary: The rules of royal life have governed the kingdoms of Clarameer for thousands of years, but Prince Phillip and Prince Daniel know that these rules don’t provide for the happily ever after they seek. A fateful, sleepless night on top of a pea under twenty mattresses brings the two young men together and sends them on a quest out into the kingdoms. On their travels, they encounter meddlesome fairies, an ambitious stepmother, disgruntled princesses and vengeful kings as they learn about life, love, friendship and family. Most of all, the two young men must learn to know themselves and how to write their own rules of ever after.
About the Author: Killian B. Brewer grew up in a family where the best way to be heard was to tell a good story, therefore he developed an early love of storytelling, puns and wordplay. He began writing poetry and short fiction at fifteen and continued in college where he earned a BA in English. He does not use this degree in his job in the banking industry. He currently lives in Georgia with his partner of ten years and their dog. Growing up in the South gave him a funny accent and a love of grits. The Rules of Ever After is his first novel.
